Australia’s largest waste management company is expanding their team and is seeking an experienced Operations Co-ordinator to join their team.

This position is based on the Surf cost and is full time.  It offers a competitive wage along with company benefits

The position reports directly to the Branch Manager and is responsible for managing a range of day to day administrative functions in operations including the allocation of daily schedules as well as support their clients’ requirements.  They are seeking a person who can develop positive working relationships, has strong communication skills and excellent time management and organisational skills. A strong safety focus is essential.

Working from the Moolap site, you will:

  • Ensure all collection services are delivered safely and compliantly 
  • Coordinate daily schedules to support council requirements 
  • First point of contact for sub-contractors, drivers and internal queries 
  • Be flexible with you work hours as some Afterhours contact and weekend work required over Summer Peak period 
  • Liaise with council to ensure contract requirements are met and jobs are completed according to agreed council response times 
  • Attend council meetings as required 
  • Complete all necessary administrative and internal and external reporting duties 
  • Operations planning, liaising with the driver group, sub-contractors and operations team to ensure resourcing and service levels are at the required levels 

Skills and experience 

  • Proven ability to manage blue collar workforce and resolve customer issues. 
  • Strong Safety Focus and understanding of basic HSE management principles 
  • Understanding of NHVR requirements including driver fatigue and vehicle mass legislation 
  • Ability to take the initiative in solving and resolving problems effectively and efficiently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proven ability to be agile in a fast-paced environment with conflicting deadlines 
  • Strong working knowledge of CRM Systems and Microsoft Applications
